Free Internet is now available across hotels in Madinah, much to the delight of pilgrims, who will now be able to stay in touch with their families back home around the clock.

Several hotels have risen to the task given the high demand for Wi-Fi, whether by businessmen or worshippers.

As such, many knew that they simply could no longer do without it.

In fact, according to several hotel staff, Wi-Fi has been rated the most important factor when choosing a hotel by pilgrims.

Many people then concurred that they would like Wi-Fi services to be free of cost.

“In the past, free Wi-Fi only used to be available in the lobby, but with the ever-growing number of pilgrims, running free Wi-Fi became a magnet that is great for business,” said a staff member of Madinah’s Al-Ansar Hotel.

“Internet connectivity has become a must and pilgrims find Internet just as important as any other basic amenities.”

Mohammed Abdullah, a hotel director in Madinah, concurred.

“We have renovated hotels and overhauled services in recent years,” he said. “The only remaining issue was free Wi-Fi access, which we ticked off our list. Guest satisfaction rates have since been higher. It makes a big difference to pilgrims to be able to communicate with family back home.”
