The Ministry of Housing announced the temporary suspension of more than 11,000 housing support applications submitted by Saudis who are outside the Kingdom for more than 90 days until applicants account for their absence.

This stipulation comes scarcely days after the ministry announced housing support for almost 621,000 applicants out of more than 960,000 people who had applied from numerous regions.

Hundreds of applicants who had registered on the Eskan portal were surprised to find their applications rejected and ruled out from the list for various reasons, including the discovery of houses or lands owned within the past five years.

The ministry said in a statement that applicants who are abroad had received messages informing them that their applications had been stalled because they were outside the Kingdom for more than 90 days for study, government work or private employment.

The ministry reiterated that citizens who own land are not eligible to receive housing support.
