JEDDAH: A Saudi citizen was wounded by a rocket fired from Yemen into the southern border region of Najran, a Civil Defense official said on Wednesday.
Capt. Abdelkhaliq Al-Qahtani said the victim was injured when a projectile hit his house at about 9 a.m. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Yemen’s Houthi militants, armed by Iran, have been shelling the Kingdom's southern borders since peace talks with the Yemeni government collapse in July.
On Monday night, Saudi air defense forces shot down a ballistic missile fired by Houthis toward an air base outside Khamis Mushayt on Monday night.
The missile was before it could cause any damage, according to the statement by the Saudi-led coalition.
Saudi forces responded to the missile attack by attacking the launch site, the statement added.
