Seven students from the International Indian School in Dammam (IISD) have won scholarship from the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology to help them to pursue higher education following their achievement of obtaining top marks in CBSE examinations, said E.K. Mohammed Shaffe, principal of IISD.

The scholarship winners are: Ranju Raju, Arun Noble Jose Rohan, Mohammed Nadeem Rasheed Khan, Mohamed Akram Khan, Dhivya Akhilan, Basima Tasneem, And Haritha Sathyan Menon.

“These students have passed the class XII exams, conducted by the Central Board of Examination in March 2014, scoring within the top 1 percent of all students who took the test” he said.

To be eligible for this scholarship, which amounts SR 80,000, students must enroll in a Bachelor or Integrated Master’s programs in Basic and Natural Science courses, such as Mathematics and Statistics.

The scholarship was planned by the ministry’s department of science and technology, and it is given to outstanding Indian students in the country and abroad.

“Several students from IISD have showed brilliant performance in the past,” said the principal.

Chairman of the school managing committee, Abdulla Manjeri, and Principal Shaffe, congratulated the recipients of the scholarship and their proud parents.

“We hope this achievement will encourage other students to excel in the upcoming board exams,” they said.
