The IISJ (International Indian School Jeddah) recently held a ceremony to felicitate the outstanding performance of students in the SAT (Scholarship Aptitude Test) this year thereby adding one more feather in their cap.

The students narrated inspiring success stories during the event and expressed their gratitude to their parents and teachers who they said played an important role in their studies.

Praising their teachers’ untiring efforts to make this success possible, they acknowledged the extra coaching provided them before and after school hours.

“A total of 42 boys and 9 girls appeared for the SAT examination and all of them scored 1,500 or above while eleven students scored more than 2,000,” said Syed Masood Ahmed, the school principal.

Shajil Muneer scored the full 2,400 points in the test to bag the first position while the second position went to Taha Amin Ur Rahman who scored 2,350.

Students scoring 2,000 and above were: Abdul Hafiz, Talhah Shamshad Ali Ansari, Doss Heinz Raja, Fadhil Basheer, Shijah Mohammed , Abineya Rajan, Abrar Mohammed Zubair Sait and Usaid Saud Changan.

Indian Consul General B.S. Mubarak commended the IISJ teachers and parents for making continuous efforts for the personality development of their children. He also stressed the importance of team work and the need to acquire multi skills.

School Observer Mohammed Raqib Qureshi, Managing Committee Chairman Raziq Abdul Vahid and Ahmed Najeeb Hashmi, a member of the management committee, were also present at the event.

Meanwhile, Atifa Arshad, a class VII student of the school, has won the award in an English creative writing competition organized by India’s Human Resources Development Ministry. IISJ is the only school in the Kingdom to have won the award in the competition. She is one of the 12 winners selected from 15,000 participants from CBSE-affiliated schools around the world.
