The Consulate General of India in Jeddah has urged Indian nationals who have received exit stamps on their passports to check the validity of their passports before purchasing tickets or boarding flights to India.

“They are advised to have a new emergency certificate (EC) issued if their passport has expired and carry both documents (on which the exit stamp has been stamped) and the new EC when traveling to India. This will facilitate immigration procedures in India,” said Information Consul Irshad Ahmad.

He said that Indians with exit stamps on their ECs under the ongoing amnesty scheme should check the validity of their ECs before purchasing tickets. Nationals should ensure that their ECs renewed to facilitate immigration formalities in India. Consulate officials can be contacted for assistance.
