Indian community members in Riyadh condoled the demise of Afzal Jalaluddin Sanai, a prominent ex-NRI businessman and managing director of Arabian Farms who died in his native city of Hyderabad, India.

Sanai arrived to Riyadh in 1977 and during 35 years that he spent in the Kingdom he contributed greatly to the Indian community, serving as the chairman of the International Indian School Riyadh (IISR) and president of the Indian Forum.

Many members of the Indian community paid their tributes to Sanai recalling his activism and positive contributions.

Nadeem Tarin, a philanthropist and NRI businessman, said Sanai was popular and considered esteemed among Indian expatriates. He would be remembered by many, Tarin said.

K. N. Wasif, a senior journalist from Hyderabad living in Riyadh, said: “Sanai was a ray of hope for many Indians and while in the Saudi capital, he was a great support and indeed a helping hand to the community. He will be greatly missed.”

Tarique Masood, former president AMUOBA in Riyadh, said Sanai would be remembered for his philanthropic and social activities.
