An Indian man in Riyadh has allegedly burned to the death his wife and their five-year-old child after the wife learned about the man’s extramarital affair, a police report said on Monday.

“The woman and the child were found dead in their house in Al-Shumaisi in the heart of the capital city,” said a police report carried by sabq.org electronic newspaper, adding that the incident took place on Sunday.

Police found that the killer was the woman’s husband who acknowledged the crime. “The man said he killed the two after the woman came to know about his illicit relations with another woman who lived in the same house.”

Police said the man wanted to burn down the house to destroy the evidence.

Col. Fawaz Al-Maiman, spokesman of Riyadh police, said they have launched an investigation into the crime after arresting the killer.
