International schools in Saudi Arabia that follow the Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum have achieved good results in Class X exams this year with many students scoring 10 CGPA points.

International Indian School-Dammam (IISD) said 58 of its 966 students scored 10 CGPA receiving A1 grade in all the five subjects, said Principal Mohammed Shaffe.

“Thirty-nine students secured 9.8 grade points while 42 scored 9.6 points, 54 students 9.4, 50 students 9.2 and 56 students 9 points,” he said, adding that 299 students received over 90 percent marks.

International Indian School-Jeddah (IISJ) Principal Syed Masood Ahmed said 43 of the 822 students who appeared for the exam received 10 CGPA points. “Our students scored a total of 616 A1 grades in different subjects,” he said.

Ahmed said the introduction of continuous and comprehensive evaluation System (CCE) by CBSE, has made it less stressful. “Seventy percent of the marks are given by way of formative assessments (FAs) and summative assessment (SA-1) by the respective schools,” he said.

For the remaining 30 percent, which is given through SA-2, the students can opt for either school-based evaluation or board-based evaluation. Schools award the total scores of students who opt for school-based evaluation. “In contrast to the general trend, all IISJ 822 students opted for board-based SA-2,” said Ahmed.

International Indian School-Jubail also scored good result in the exam, which was conducted in March. Out of 291 students, 25 secured 10 CGPA points while four have been placed under EIOP, said Principal Syed Hameed. “All of us at the school are delighted by the results,” he said.

Modern International School in Al-Ahsa reported record results with 21 of its 63 students receiving 90 and above marks, said award-winning Principal Kazi Siddique Haseeb. “The school is celebrating the roaring success,” he said.

Al-Khozama International School-Dammam said two of 58 students received full 10 points while 21 got nine and above points.
