A high-ranking official of the Indonesian government arrived in the Kingdom yesterday to see that the work being done to provide assistance to Indonesian expatriates meets the July 3 deadline.

According to sources, Tatang Buide Utama Razk, director of protection of Indonesian citizens and legal entities division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta, who is accompanied by a team, will hold a meeting today to review services rendered by the Indonesian Consulate to its citizens who wish to avail themselves of the amnesty and also see how the mission can effectively meet the deadline.

The Indonesia has also sent more than a dozen officials to Jeddah to expedite passport services to its nationals.

Nearly 42,000 Indonesians, mostly domestic helpers and women are seeking consular services to regularize their stay and some of them want to return home.
