An inmate of a prison in Buraidah tied the knot with his loved one behind bars recently.

Fellow prisoners attended the wedding in the prison’s square as requested by the happy groom, who is in his thirties, Gen. Saleh Al-Qirzi’i from the Prisons Authority told local media.

Prison officials helped to ensure that the newlyweds had a decorated table and a room prepared for the wedding night so that they could have privacy, said Al-Qirzi’i.

He said the Prisons Authority allows inmates to either celebrate special events in prison, or grants them special permission to attend one outside, often without shackles or surveillance of any kind.
