RIYADH: The Ministry of Interior recently launched a series of training programs to upgrade the efficiency of its female staff as a new step to empower women and give them an opportunity to shine in security-related fields.

Maha Frehi, the manager of development department in Riyadh, said that the new steps come in continuation of government support for Saudi women in all areas.

These particular training programs will help in upgrading the skills of Saudi women in different fields, now extending into the Prisons Department as women will have the experience to deal with prisoners and the skills to turn their negative attitudes into positive ones, she said.

Frehi said that these training programs will be applied in all regions of the Kingdom due to their great positive impact in developing a cadre of female employees in prisons.

Khadeeja M. Al-Ghuraibi, director of women’s prison, said that this step comes as a huge support for Saudi women in the Kingdom.
