RIYADH: Prominent leaders from across the world, foreign diplomats and a cross-section of Saudi society, including the Shoura Council and Council of Senior Scholars, united in grief and condemned in unequivocal terms the heinous suicide bombing at the Saudi Special Emergency Forces mosque in Asir on Thursday.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the terrorist attack in strong words with OIC Secretary-General Iyad Ameen Madani saying: “This heinous crime is aimed at destabilizing the Kingdom and terrorizing innocent people.”

He underlined that the violation of the sanctity of life and targeting a house of worship are criminal acts that can only be carried out by people devoid of any religious, ethical or human values.

Madani expressed his sincere condolences to and solidarity with the families of the victims, and expressed his confidence in the unity of the Saudi people and support for their leadership in confronting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations saying that Saudi authorities will quickly identify those who planned and executed this crime.
