The General Court in Surat Abidah has sentenced a number of people to 70 days in jail and 118 lashes for torturing and burning a fox alive, according to the spokesman of the Asir governorate.

The convicts were also charged with recording a video of the horrendous event and posting the clip on a social networking site. The spokesman said that Asir Gov. Prince Faisal bin Khaled, upon learning about the incident, ordered their arrest and demanded a full investigation and trial.

Police tracked down the suspects shortly after the event occurred and dealt with them according to the law.
