A citizen, Ali Muhammed Kaabi, has accused the administration of the housing charity in Jazan of disconnecting the power supply of his house, and forcing him and his family to live in the dark after they threatened to kick him out of the house, according to his statement.

Kaabi told Okaz newspaper that he has five family members who rely completely on him, including a young blind daughter and a wife who suffers from schizophrenia, as attested by doctors’ medical reports.

He had been living in the housing charity for about four years, and had bestowed his house to his widowed mother-in-law.

He was shocked by the housing administration’s decision that included cutting off the electricity, which made it very difficult for him and his family.

Kaabi said that despite providing the housing administration with all the evidence of his poor financial status and his need for shelter, his being unemployed and having no source of income to enable him to rent a house, it did not prevent them from cutting off the power to his house.

He added that the housing administration personnel were insensitive to the medical condition of his wife and daughter, asking him to reconnect the power, in addition to transferring the ownership of the house granted to his departed mother-in-law back to himself.

On the other hand, the media spokesman of the emirate of Jazan province, Ali Mousa Zaala, clarified that Ali’s case will be looked after by the concerned authorities who will examine the reasons for the disconnection.
