JEDDAH: The municipality organized a forum to promote the integration of people with special needs in the community, provide productive lives and secure necessary social and cognitive services.

Dr. Hani bin Mohammed Abu Ras, mayor of the Jeddah Municipality, said in a statement the municipality aims to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, especially related to the people of special needs, to discuss obstacles and find solutions.

He also said the municipality wants to make Jeddah a province where they create a department to facilitate people with special needs. The municipality also signed partnership agreements with other agencies and activists to support and promote awareness on the rights of the special needs people to achieve the universal standard in access everywhere and to integrate them into society.

Khaled Sindi, mayor of Bahra under the Makkah municipality, threw light on the abilities of the special need people under the theme “capabilities network” and reviewed the integration of people with special needs in the community.

M. Mukhtar Al-Shaibani, head of the cities municipalities gave a presentation on the concept of inclusiveness of Jeddah for everyone.
