TABUK: Jordanian students who complete secondary school education in Saudi Arabia will have to clear a test conducted by the National Center of Assessment in Higher Education (Qiyas) in the Kingdom before seeking admission in that country.

“The secondary school certificate should be accompanied by a certificate by Qiyas saying that the student has cleared the aptitude test. Only the secondary school certificate will not be accepted for admission to higher classes in Jordan,” the country’s Education Minister Mohammad Al-Thnaibat was quoted as saying by local media on Friday.

The decision has been taken to ensure quality in education, he said, adding that the rule applies to all those students who study in other Arab countries. “Secondary school certificates issued by other Arab countries that don’t have a national aptitude test will not be accepted, unless they are combined with an abilities test certificate according to requirements,” he said.
