The General Organization of Ports (GOP) launched the first international conference on marine and platform engineering on Wednesday in Jubail Industrial City.

“The sponsorship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques of this conference is proof of his interest in developing Saudi ports and launching various scientific conferences that provide opportunities for information and experience exchange among scientists, specialists and workers in various fields, including the maritime and ports transport sector,” said Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri, head of GOP.

“Conference objectives include exchanging information and experiences among professionals and maritime transport sector workers, familiarizing participants with Saudi ports development in all fields and providing opportunities for researchers and specialists to display the results of their studies and their research. The conference is held in the Kingdom for its distinct economical location and industrial status and its various upcoming projects.”

Several scientists, specialists and academics form the Royal Commission Colleges and Institutes, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria, UTM University from Malaysia and Zparticipated in the conference that was held in Al-Fanateer conference hall.

Workers in the maritime transport sector, GOP ports at Aramco and specialized companies attended the conference.
