Admissions are open for associate degree and international professional certificates at Jeddah Community College (JCC) of King Abdulaziz University, which is one of the oldest, well-established, and well-known universities in the Kingdom.

JCC, one of the colleges of KAU, was established in 2003 to serve the community of the Western Region in general and Jeddah community in particular.

JCC, a major community college in the Kingdom, is committed to serving the community at various levels in accordance with the functional needs of the job market. JCC is one of the educational establishments founded to satisfy the needs of the Saudi private and public sectors, besides coping with the modern international development trend.

JCC is known of its own kinds in Western Saudi Arabia and poised for a quantum leap in development of professional and technological education in this region.

JCC is described as the first governmental community college in the Kingdom, which has opened its doors to expatriate students along with working professionals for its evening associate degree programs. The college’s aim is to connect with the community and interact with all different cultures in society, including international schools and companies who want to train their employees,” said the college’s Dean Ahmed bin Saleh Alabdulwahab.

Over 10 years of achievements and hundreds of highly qualified graduates, the college is still aiming to be the leading community college in KSA. JCC offers the associate degree in 3 years, including a preparatory year that focuses on developing students' English language skills.

The student has the choice to be specialized in one of the programs such as computer networking administration, computer graphics design, accounting, marketing, insurance and sales.

JCC applies the credit hour system decided by the Council of King Abdulaziz University. Each academic year is divided into two major terms, each 18 weeks in length in addition to a separate 8-week summer term.

Duration of each program is three years (6 semesters) except sales that is one and a half years (3 semesters). Duration can be reduced to two years (4 semesters) as a result of TOEFL-based English exemption test (EET). A student can get an exemption of two semesters who qualifies the EET conducted by the JCC. All of these programs are accredited by the Council on the Occupational Education (COE) of the United States.

Added to the degree in these majors, the students have the opportunity to obtain an international professional certificate such as CCNA and IT certificates from CISCO Academy; MTA, MCSA and MCSE certificates from Microsoft Academy; Cambridge IT certificate validated by CIE; Adobe Professional Designer certificate, ACCA granted by the British Institute of Chartered Accountants; and CII certification granted by the British Insurance Commission.

In this regard, JCC is considered the first community college in the Kingdom to offer professional certificates in order to qualify the graduates to the labor market academically and professionally. Great efforts have been done under the leadership of JCC Dean Ahmed Alabdulwahab who took the initiative to start this project.

The admissions for the academic year 2014-2015 are now open for Saudi and expatriate males and Saudi females only, high school graduates as well as public and private sectors’ employees.

Meanwhile, all expatriates have the chance to study at JCC with a very competitive charge. As a well-known educational and accredited institution, JCC is keen to make all the programs available in the morning and through the parallel program in the evening to enable whoever is interested in joining one of our professional programs.
