King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) will hold a two-day entrepreneurship forum on Oct. 27 at Prince Naif International Center for Culture & Sciences at the university.

KFUPM rector Khaled bin Saleh Al-Sultan said the university endeavors to create an entrepreneurial culture in academia under global economic challenges.

“The university’s success in implementing a strategic plan for innovation and invention has provided promising opportunity for productive investment projects, which enhance the Kingdom’s economy.”

Al-Sultan also said that the forum would discuss key issues related to KFUPM’s leadership in education, research and business incubators, as well as the university’s role in finding leading environmental systems.

Samir Al-Baiyat, supervisor at the Technology Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Office in KFUPM, said the university keeps apace of modern institutes whose roles are no longer limited to education but also encompass building national economies and determining sustainable plans for a knowledge-based society.

Wail Mousa, director of the Business Incubation Center and acting director of the Innovation Center at KFUPM, said that the forum comes in good time, as it aims to educate KFUPM students, staff and faculty members about the importance of entrepreneurship in international academia.

“The university is exerting great efforts to build a knowledge-based society capable of providing job opportunities. Our management will support entrepreneurs who have ambitious ideas and good economic studies.




It will also provide a good work environment during the initial critical years of their projects,” he said, and called on stakeholders to participate in the forum through registration via the university website.

The forum will be attended by the Education Minister Khalid Al-Anqari, in addition to globally and locally experienced specialists in entrepreneurship.
