Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal has appointed Khaled bin Fahad Al-Harthi as secretary-general of youth sector development in the Makkah region. The youth sector development section will work under the aegis of the Makkah governorate. Its main aim is to unify government and private sector efforts in developing the youth sector.

Al-Harthi expressed thanks and gratitude to the governor and reiterated that he will work to realize Prince Khaled’s vision and activate youth programs and activities in a manner that will achieve the goals set by the leaders.

Al-Harthi obtained his bachelor’s degree in engineering from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah and did his postgraduate studies in economics from a British university.

He is a weekly columnist and an economic analyst on television channels. Earlier, he was the secretary-general of the Youth Forum in Makkah. He was head of Jeddah Festival (1433), head of the hospitality committee (twice), initiator of the Saudi Hospitality Day, member of the tourist committee, founding member of the Young Businessmen’s Committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Industry (JCCI).

Al-Harthi has done a number of researches and work papers on small and medium enterprises (SMEs), sustainable development and entrepreneurship.
