JEDDAH: The Royal Court has ordered the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center to provide medical care to a four-year-old Yemeni girl who is suffering from a rare cancer in the shoulder.

The directive from the court came in response an appeal by Saudi actor Faiz Al-Malki. The child, Retaj’ needs intensive medical treatment and surgery, in addition to chemotherapy and radiation.

The girl’s father, Abdul Malek Al-Shuoaibi, thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for his humanitarian decision, local media reported on Sunday.

“We expect another humanitarian decision to treat Retaj’s sister,” he was quoted as saying.

“My younger daughter, one year and eight months, suffers from a serious heart disease since she was born. There is no partition between the right and left ventricles. I do not wait for any donation but I am dreaming that my two daughters could be provided immediate medical treatment at the King Faisal hospital or the National Guard hospital,” he said.

“I wish to correct my status to stay with my two daughters at the hospital,” he added.
