Prince Salman, vice custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has said the efforts of former kings and the people have made the Kingdom a role model of peace, unity and stability while many countries in the region remain embroiled in political turmoil.
Prince Salman issued a congratulatory message issued on the occasion of the 82nd National Day of the Kingdom.
“On the occasion of our 82nd anniversary, we recollect the struggles of our fathers and grandfathers for the unity of the country on the foundations of tolerance as exemplified in the Shariah and which have made the country a role model of harmony as well as of territorial integrity. Every citizen should be proud of taking part in fostering this integrity, which is one of the major premises of the country’s stability,” the vice custodian stressed in his message.
“On this joyous occasion, I congratulate all men and women for the peace, security, progress and stability that we enjoy under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, who has spared no effort to tap into the Kingdom’s energy reserves and resources to achieve security and prosperity for all,” the vice custodian said.
He added the country has been turned into an arena of workshops racing against time to implement huge projects to benefit citizens in all parts of the Kingdom upon the orders of the king.
“On this day, and all others days, I am pleased to share with you my pride in the Kingdom’s achievements, including the security and stability enjoyed across all sectors and provinces. I also share with you the hope that these achievements would be a source of welfare for the country and our fellow countrymen,” the crown prince added.
The prince also stressed the importance of human resource development in advancing progress.
“Manpower is the real wealth of any nation. Man is the basic factor in the march toward progress that cannot be achieved unless citizens aim at goal-oriented progress and welfare in an environment of security and stability,” the prince said.
He thanked God Almighty for the country’s success in standing steadfast in implementing the Shariah.
“The sons of King Abdulaziz, down to King Abdullah, have been treading on the same path, which is the source of the Kingdom’s power. The country is blessed with the holy city of Makkah where the first house of worship for the Almighty was built. It is the place from where Islam emerged and has been the 'Qiblah' (direction of prayer) of all Muslims in the world. The illuminated Madinah, destination of the Prophet’s emigration, his mosque and his grave, are also in the Kingdom,” the vice custodian said.
He added that the Kingdom’s service to pilgrims is a coveted duty of the country and the citizens.
He said the Kingdom’s resources have enabled it to strive successfully for the welfare of Islam, Muslims and the entire mankind.
The vice custodian also urged citizens and residents to safeguard the country’s safety and stability as nearby regions slip into unrest and turmoil.
