RIYADH: The Cabinet, in its Monday meeting, praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for his support of scholars and scientists, which included attending the King Faisal International Prize 2016 awards ceremony. It also congratulated the monarch for being awarded an honorary doctorate by King Saud University.

The Cabinet further welcomed the recommendations issued by the Fourth Saudi-United States Business Opportunities Forum organized by the Ministry of Commerce under the patronage of the king.

Decisions taken by the Cabinet included exempting 60 officials and players, participating in this year’s Olympic Games in Brazil, from being considered absent from their public and private sector jobs.

The Cabinet further approved a memorandum of understanding on bilateral political consultations with Gabon; and to give an additional SR10 million on annual basis to the Ministry of Social Affairs for the next three years on awareness programs for those planning to marry.

The Cabinet also approved a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Presidency of Meteorology and Environment and its South Korean counterpart.
