At its weekly meeting in Riyadh, chaired by Crown Prince Salman, the Cabinet discussed a number of reports relating to the latest regional and global developments in the region and the world, said Minister of Culture and Information Abdulaziz Khoja.

The Cabinet welcomed the positive feedback that the Kingdom received from the many countries for enhancing human rights.

The Cabinet approved financial assistance for individuals affected by floods and fires, for Saudis, whether employees or contract workers, who work abroad legally, and any member of their families if accompanying them. Coordination shall be carried out between the Finance Ministry and the Foreign Ministry on control mechanisms to pay the injured and the families of the deceased and those citizens affected abroad.

The Cabinet approved new tourism regulations. It has asked the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) to post hotel room prices and fees for services and tourist professions. It also recommended that the SCTA supervise and regulate housing unit rates and facilities in the hospitality sector.

The Cabinet also approved the implementation of the decision of the Supreme Council of GCC countries, stipulating the adoption of the consolidated rules for the listing of securities in the capital markets at the member countries.

The rules regulate the listing of stocks, bonds, sukuk (Islamic bonds), and investment fund units. The decision recommends the use of these rules in a guidance capacity for two years, after which they will be reviewed and will become mandatory.
