JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia runs the largest educational mission for Egyptians in the world as it hosts around 250,000 Egyptian students, from kindergarten to doctoral studies, an official said.

“The mission comprises more than 100,000 teachers, researchers and faculty members,” Dr. Mohamed Osman Alkhasht, Egyptian cultural attaché and head of the educational mission, has been quoted as saying by a local publication.

Alkhasht said he met Egyptian Education Minister Moheb Al-Rafei and discussed all the files of the pre-university education level involving Egyptian expatriates in Saudi Arabia. “Al-Rafei issued instructions to reopen the polling process on the two-term system to survey the Egyptian communities abroad.”

The cultural Office in Riyadh has managed to process the educational paperwork of Egyptians free of charge in five minutes, as processing such paperwork generally takes much longer elsewhere, and is associated with a fee.

A new website for the educational mission’s office was launched recently within the framework of the strategic plan developed by the cultural adviser for the development and improvement of services and performance.

The website will help students, parents and teachers get all the necessary information about education without having to come to the office in person.
