RIYADH: UAE Minister of State for Higher Education Ahmed Balhoul Al-Falasi lauded recently the Kingdom for merging the two ministries on education.

“The Saudi leadership headed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman gives a lot of attention to quality education,” Al-Falasi said.

He made the statement during a visit to the UNESCO Regional Center at the Diplomatic Quarter (DQ) in the Saudi capital. He was welcomed by Director General Hussam bin Abdul Wahab Zaman.

Al-Falasi said the Kingdom's efforts at improving education were displayed when the ministries of public education and higher education were merged into one ministry.

Al-Falasi said that this ensures high quality of education which the Kingdom imparts to students who would assume future leadership positions in the country, such as in business and industry.

“It is easy to build schools and develop curricula but the quality in the delivery of information is the basis of the educational process,” he said.

He added that “numbers and statistics concerned with quality of education show that we are in the Gulf region…”

“We in the Gulf region look at the quality of education seriously and we have this in mind as we work with the UNESCO Regional Center,” Al-Falasi said.

He also shared his country’s efforts and expertise in raising the level of the quality of education in the public and private sectors.
