JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia and Peru have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of civilization and heritage during a meeting in Lima.

The pact was signed by Prince Sultan bin Salman, president of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, and Peru’s Minister of Culture and Tourism Diana Alvarez Calderon on Wednesday.

Later, Peruvian President Ollanta Humala received Prince Sultan, and both of them discussed mutual relations and ways to further enhance them, SPA reported.

Latest economic and political developments in the Middle East were also discussed at the meeting, during which Humala lauded the Kingdom for its success on the economic front and role in the region.

Prince Sultan conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to Humala, who in turn sent his greetings to the king. A number of officials were present at the meeting.
