King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh participated in a career day organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) in Brisbane, Australia to explore career options for Saudi students.

Higher Education Minister Khaled Al-Anqari inaugurated the event, said KSU university sources on Wednesday.

Nabil Al-Saleh, Saudi ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, and other dignitaries in the Saudi Embassy also attended the event.

KSU was represented by Saad Hussein, dean of faculty affairs, who briefly explained that the aim of the event was to attract distinguished graduates from Australian universities to take up jobs in the Kingdom.

The career day was planned to coincide with the graduation ceremony of 1,613 students who have graduated from prestigious Australian universities under the King Abdullah Foreign Scholarship Program (KAFSP).

Australia has become a favored destination for Saudi students going abroad for higher studies under the program, aside from the US and Europe.

The participation of KSU in a career day abroad came under the personal guidance and follow-up of Badran Al-Omar, university rector, the PR department said.
