The King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh will be organizing its first Career Week next week under the sponsorship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah on its campus.

As many as 75 companies, from the government and private sectors, will take part in the high-profile job-relevant event for KSU’s alumni, both males and females from Oct. 19-23.

“The Career Week comes from the university’s keenness on providing the best career opportunities for its students, and to enable employers to meet directly with the graduates and offer career opportunities that fit their specialties,” KSU Rector Badran Al-Omar said.

He said this will attract several companies and government institutions to provide opportunities that suit all disciplines offered by the university.

According to him, the university has introduced a skills log that affords students a range of skills needed to enter the labor market.

He added that the university is committed to providing courses that would meet the requirements of the Saudi market.

In this context, the university has launched a website which will help job seekers to familiarize themselves with the labor market and ways to apply for the job opportunities.

Mohammed Al-Sudairy, chairman of the organizing committee said that the event comes at a time when the labor market is seeing a number of changes that have intensified the competition for job opportunities.
