The Labor Ministry will deploy 244 inspectors at accommodation facilities and holy sites in Makkah for the first time during Haj to ensure that employees are legal and are working in the profession stated on their residency permits.

Authorities will also check the paperwork of seasonal workers who have been employed temporarily to meet growing demand during the busy season.

Inspections will continue until Oct. 20 and teams will be electronically linked with the ministry’s support center.

“We have kept a tab on workers and business establishments offering Haj services at the holy sites,” said Mufarrej Al-Haqbani, deputy labor minister.
