JEDDAH: The Ministry of Labor explained the facts behind a video clip circulating on social media showing two male expat workers and a woman inside a commercial center acting in an inappropriate manner.

The ministry firmly confirmed that the incident is outdated and those who appeared in the video were permanently deported.

Khalid Abalkhail, the ministry’s media spokesman, said in a press statement for local media here on Friday that the ministry conducted investigations during the past few days to learn the real truth about the video.

“We found the expat workers in the video are of Arab nationality and the shop is located inside a commercial complex in Riyadh. The woman is a frequent customer of the shop and the incident dates back to Shawal 1435, and had already been documented in the official records of the competent authorities concerning this kind of cases,” said the spokesman.

He added: “The company that owns the shop immediately reported the incident at that time and the three were permanently deported from the Kingdom.”

He confirmed the ministry has put in place conditions and regulations mandating that establishments organize the work environment and develop it, indicating that the ministry continuously conducts inspection rounds to ensure the commitment of the establishments and the employees to the regulations, and imposes penalties on violators, including deporting the workers of violations.
