The world-class leadership program under the slogan “high performance health care organizations” will be held from Nov. 1 to 6 under the auspices of the Madinah Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship (MILE), which is part of Madinah Knowledge Economic City.

“The program comes in accordance with the Kingdom’s thrust of upgrading the skills of leaders in the health care sector to be responsive to the needs of contemporary times,” said Mohamed Moustafa Mahmoud, MILE CEO.

Mahmoud, who received his doctorate degree from Wharton School of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania, was in the Saudi capital on Monday to meet with Health Ministry officials regarding the program. He said the program will consist of valuable and interactive sessions delivered by highly-skilled, internationally recognized leaders and consultants in the health sector.

He said that top-notch speakers from prestigious business schools and consulting firms will talk on management and leadership practices prevailing in the health care sector.

He said renowned keynote speakers will deliver interactive sessions and share their insights on how executives in the health care industry could compete with others by formulating and maintaining a correct leadership strategy for their organizations.

“Issues, such as health finances and service delivery, health information, health workforce, leadership and governance in the event of a crisis will also be discussed,” he said.

Another outstanding feature of the conference, he added, will be the one-on-one psychometric coaching and assessment provided by the world’s leading personality assessment organization, TalentQ.

“TalentQ will provide program participants with a rare opportunity to identify and understand the personal traits that contributed toward the leadership style they have adopted,” he said.

He added that through the program, the world’s best-selling books on health care will be showcased exclusively for the delegates, along with access to online archives of renowned publications in the health care industry.

The program will commence with Prof. Joseph Coyne of Washington State University in the US, who will give a title entitled “formulating financial decision strategy in changing health care landscape” on Nov. 1.

Prof. Stephen E. Chick from INSEAD, France, will talk about “total quality management”. Osama Mosallam from American University in Cairo, Egypt, will elaborate on “total quality management” and Prof. Salman Rawaf of Imperial College in London will discuss “patient-centered care strategy.”

Prof. Dr. Wilfried von Eiff of the Leipzig Graduate School of Business Management in Germany will share his thoughts about utilizing health care executives in boosting health care delivery.

Mahmoud added that a one-day conference on Nov. 6, entitled “meet the health care leaders” will mark the closing ceremony for the event.

He added that a complimentary Umrah and an exclusive trip to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah will be arranged by MILE for program delegates.
