BEIRUT: Lebanese President Michel Aoun received here on Monday Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, and his accompanying delegation.
In a press statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the reception, Prince Khaled expressed his thanks and gratitude for the reception, adding that he conveyed to him two messages from King Salman: one congratulating him on his election as president of Lebanon and the other inviting him to pay a visit to the Kingdom as soon as possible.
"The president asked me to tell the king that he will visit the Kingdom after the formation of the Lebanese Cabinet," the prince said.
Aoun underscored his country's keenness to enhance ties with Saudi Arabia, appreciating stances taken by King Salman toward Lebanon.
In a press statement later, the president thanked the government of Saudi Arabia over attention paid to the Lebanese in the Kingdom, pointing out that they are working and will keep working for the prosperity of the Kingdom.
The president also asserted that Lebanon is used to playing a positive role to serving common Arab causes, reaffirming that it will keep doing that.
