A number of literary programs organized by Makkah’s audio and media groups to spread Arabic culture were held on Saturday in Jeddah under the slogan “Arabian Cultural Days.”

The programs and events were organized under the patronage of Saud Al-Sheikhi, a media director in Makkah, and the Saudi writer and poet Dr. Khider bin Kamil, who presented his latest book, titled “My sense, their voice.”

During the event, that gathered hundreds of people, participants discussed current Saudi literature and the media’s role in spreading culture in the Kingdom. Other events included books presentations on Saudi scientific studies, children’s literature and poetry.

Sheikh Saad Al-Qurashi, a media personality, lauded Dr. Kamil’s contribution to the country in the field of culture and information.

He also praised the program’s efforts to develop the Kingdom’s culture with the participation of prominent literature and media people.

The opening ceremony included a number of literary performances, poems and a brief film on Saudi and Hejazi cultural programs as well as songs and folklore dancing.
