MADINAH: Pilgrims flock to Madinah to receive blessings and pay their salutations to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) at the Prophet’s Mosque during their spiritual Haj journey. They also take the opportunity to visit the archaeological and historic sites.

An Algerian pilgrim, Amroun Uhud, who has earlier performed Umrah has this time come for the first time to fulfill his dreams to perform Haj.

Speaking to Arab News, Uhud expressed happiness to be in the holy city, pray there and pay salutations to the Prophet (peace be upon him). He also intends to visit historical sites and famous mosques like Quba, the two Qiblas and the seven mosques.

He praised the expansion projects of the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah, as also the Mashaer railway project.

The Algerian thanked the Saudis for their good hospitality and the government’s efforts to provide maximum facilities to the Haj guests.

“The Algerians have deep feelings of love and respect for Saudi Arabia and its people,” he said.

Madinah is one of the most beautiful and developed cities with high standards and universal features such as luxurious hotels and malls as well as beautiful roads, he said.

The Haj trip cost him SR 3,000 including living expenses and accommodation.
