RIYADH: The police in Madinah have arrested a youth in his twenties who was responsible for a mystery death which occurred a month ago. According to Madinah police chief Major General Abdul Hadi Al-Shahrani, a complaint was made by a shepherd in the area about a corpse in a valley.

Responding security authorities found that the body was that of an Asian. The deceased was a water bowser driver who had been working in the Kingdom for the past 40 years.

At the time of the murder, Al-Shahrani said the police did not have any clues with which to identify the suspect. He added that the subsequent investigations by the special police department drove the authorities to identify the youth as the prime suspect in the murder.

The deceased had sustained gunshot injuries to his head and eye. It was later determined that the suspect had been moving with the deceased for a long time as friends and that some misunderstandings between them had led the youth to kill the man who was in his sixties.

According to the police official, the suspect who confessed to the killing told the police that he shot him in his head and had dumped the dead body far away from the scene of the incident.

The forensic experts confirmed that the death was due to injuries from the bullets. Al-Shahrani said that the police will conduct further investigations and produce the suspect before a court of law to determine the necessary punishment.
