Madinah plans to hold Eid Al-Fitr celebrations in nine different locations for 10 days, it was announced here recently.

The “Eid Taiba 35” festival is aimed at providing venues for citizens and expatriates to celebrate during the Eid holidays.

Khaled bin Abdul Qader Taher, the mayor of Madinah and chairman of the supreme organizing committee, said the celebrations would be launched under the patronage of Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman.

He said the celebrations would include many activities and events highlighting the city’s heritage and development projects.

Taher praised members of the organizing committee for setting up the festivals at several meetings recently. Prince Faisal is overseeing the preparations and recently visited the nine areas where the festivities would take place, he said.

He thanked the government and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for supporting these events.

The celebrations would start on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr and continue for 10 days. The main ceremony would be held at King Fahd Park's heritage village.

Taher said the celebrations would include many surprises for citizens and expatriates.
