A Nepalese housemaid was beheaded on Monday for killing her sponsor’s child in Arar in the Northern Border Province.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed in a statement that capital punishment was implemented after higher authorities endorsed a court verdict against the Asian woman for murdering three-year-old Osama Al-Enezi two years ago.

Osama was killed after he was lured into a bathroom under the pretext that she would teach him how to swim.

The child’s father said the woman tried to escape through a bathroom window after the murder, but was arrested shortly thereafter and confessed to the crime when confronted with evidence, including her fingerprints.

The Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution had interrogated the suspect and referred the evidence to the General Court in Arar for trial, after which an appeals court and the Supreme Court both endorsed the verdict.
