The Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (MCCI) endorsement department has certified 200,000 documents and letters over the past 55 days, submitted by employers in Makkah, Jeddah and other regions, according to an official.

Imad Ketbi, the MCCI's general director of development planning of resources, said the department has not stopped working to complete subscription applications over this period. "Our work starts from eight in the morning until midnight every day of the week," he added.

Dismissing rumors circulating in the business community that there are delays in certifications, he said: "There are more than eight offices across Makkah for both endorsement and subscription processes. But it is normal that there are greater numbers of customers in light of the correction grace period that is coming to an end."

He said that all members of the MCCI were working hard to ensure that they serve the country in the best possible manner and overlooking their differences. He said the secretariat was the driving force behind the MCCI's strategic plan to develop services approved by the board of directors at its last session.

He said the general secretary was attending workshops abroad but these experiences would be used to boost the economic, technological and administrative services of the MCCI.
