A young man who appeared in a video clip wearing ihram during the opening of a restaurant branch in Buraidah on Wednesday has sparked a furor on social media network.

Subsequently, some members of the public demanded that the authorities punish the man, after his friend apparently challenged him to wear ihram in order to win some money.

Ihram is the two pieces of cloth worn by male pilgrims. One is wrapped round the upper part of the body except the head, and the other is wrapped round the lower part of the body.

Qassim police arrested the man on Thursday evening and handed him over to the Bureau of Investigation.
