The body of a man was found along a beach in the Eastern Province by marine patrols in Half Moon Bay, Alkhobar. The man apparently drowned in the sea and his body washed ashore.

Spokesman for the Border Guard Capt. Omar Al-Aklabi said that the ambulance, search and rescue teams immediately headed to the site after receiving a communication about the accident.

He said: "The commander of beach center, who was accompanied by a team of investigators and forensic experts from Dhahran, said that the team found no evidences of criminal activity in the man's death.

He said that the body was transferred to Dammam Medical complex and that the family of the man has been contacted. Al-Aklabi pointed out that search and rescue teams registered 93 rescue cases and eight deaths during the past nine months.

He said that despite the efforts of the Eastern Province Border Guard in raising awareness about safety rules, most accidents happen due to violation of regulations, negligence of written guidance notes and signs and swimming in prohibited areas.


"Everyone, especially young people, should follow marine safety instructions and avoid risks", the spokesman said.
