JEDDAH: A man long wanted for terrorism and other crimes in the Eastern Province had been killed in a shootout with the police, the Ministry of Interior said on Thursday.
In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the ministry said security agents were searching the home of suspected terrorist Abdul-Rahim Ali Abdul-Rahim Al-Farajin the town of Awwamiya in Qatif governorate on Wednesday night when they came under fire.
Faraj was killed in the ensuing shootout, said the ministry. None of the security agents and civilians who were around were hurt, it added.
Faraj and his brother Majid Ali Rahim Faraj were being hunted for the shooting death of a number of security officers and attack on a number of citizens and public property and armed robbery.
