JEDDAH: The Ministry of Haj announced that those who want to perform Haj should register themselves through the Haj portal website as the names of all companies through which local pilgrims can register for Haj are available.
Majid Sidiqui, the media coordinator of Al-Uhudal Watania company, told Arab News that a number of people who want to perform Haj complained that they couldn’t self-register through the website as they don’t know how to complete the process.
Siddiqui said the procedure is not difficult if pilgrims follow the new system according to the Haj portal, but sometimes they get worried when after they have completed their payment, the online system still shows “payment pending.” They should note that the ministry has increased the time limit from 48 hours to 78 hours for sending confirmation.
Siddiqui explained that booking through the Haj portal is compulsory even for those going on the normal Haj category. Pilgrims who haven’t mentioned their booking numbers while submitting the payment should note that the IBAN numbers given are generated separately for every pilgrim. The ministry’s system can still identify the booking from the IBAN number itself.
Pilgrims can register only through the internal Haj reservation e-service, and pilgrims should try to complete booking through a computer instead of cell phones.
In the reservation screen, determine the number of male and female pilgrims, select the establishment and city of the pilgrim and the type of service program. The package list will appear for previously chosen service. A list of companies will appear, select Haj operator, prices and services offered will also be displayed.
Pilgrims have to enter their data requested by the system (iqama number, place of Issue, date of issue, date of expiry, blood group, e-mail address, mobile number, sponsor number etc), complete the booking process and get a booking number and details of the payment data.
Pay the value of the selected program with the your IBAN number within the time limit available.
The reservation will be cancelled if the pilgrim fails to pay within 24 hours of the booking, after completion of payment, the system will proceed to issue a Haj contract. Pilgrims will also receive a text message containing a request number for the company’s agreement and date.
The pilgrim should enter Haj Ministry’s website again and print out the contract and take it to the company booked for the Haj permit and other details.
