Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah inaugurated the Dallah Hospital for Children on Tuesday, the first private specialist hospital for children in the Kingdom.

This hospital will provide medical services to the citizens and residents of Riyadh as well as visitors around the year.

Speaking on the occasion, Al-Rabeeah said, “Our aim is to provide consummate health care to the citizens and the opening of the hospital is also a reflection of the government’s interest to provide the best health services to its people.”

He expressed his gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his continuous support to the health sector for the benefit of citizens.

According to recent statistics, there are more than 132 hospitals under construction with a capacity of 33,750 beds and five medical cities around the Kingdom with a capacity of 6,200 beds. In 2013, 16 new hospitals were completed with a capacity of more than 3,700 beds.

He said, “All private and government sectors are witness to the growth and expansion of the health care sector with the kind support of King Abdullah. The Health Ministry aims to provide high-quality health services to its citizens.”

He added that the new specialist children’s hospital is a big addition to the health sector. “I appreciate the partnership between the government and private sectors which are working together for the growth of the citizens and the Kingdom,” Al-Rabeeah said.

Tariq Al-Qasabi, CEO of Dallah Hospital said, “The children’s hospital has been created in response to the growing demand for pediatrics. The section includes 26 clinics for children with 70 beds, 27 beds for intensive care for children and new born babies and 70 nursery beds for women who have delivered babies.”

He added, “This hospital will contribute to upgrading medical facilities we are providing for children such as cardiac and orthopedic surgery, renal, dental, brain, neural, digestive, respiratory and psychiatry units.”

The facilities in the new children hospital also consists of the radiology unit, a center for burns, laboratory, blood bank, physiotherapy section, rehabilitation treatment department, emergency unit, minor surgery rooms, triage rooms, OPD clinics, nephrology department, pediatric and surgery clinics, pulmonology and nephrology department, operating theaters, cardiac catherization, coronary care units, fertility unit, cardiology unit, lithotripsy department, ENT, ultra sound unit and breast biopsy room among others.
