The Ministry of Education has made it mandatory for those desiring to obtain posts of lecturers in institutes of higher education in the Kingdom to seek the approval of Education Minister Prince Khaled Al-Faisal as a pre-condition for the application.

The ministry has also made it compulsory for organizations to take its approval for holding seminars and lectures at schools or in the ministry’s headquarters.

The decision further includes the Minister’s approval prior to the distribution of educational and guidance publications, vocal or visual materials.

This comes in response to the context of the war in the region where authorities fear that extremist ideologies may threaten to derail the educational process.

Earlier, it was sufficient to have the approval of the two deputies of the Minister of Education for being appointed as lecturers.

Al-Faisal warned violators that they will be terminated if found involved in the activities without approval.
