JEDDAH: The Ministry of Haj in Madinah has employed women workers for the first time.

Six women have been employed to work only during the Haj season, on the orders of Bandar Hajjar, the Haj minister, said Mohammed Al-Bijawi, director of the ministry in Madinah, a local publication reported recently.

Sources at the ministry have confirmed that a request has also been sent to the Ministry of Civil Service to employ 100 more women in Makkah and Madinah to work for the Haj Ministry.
