JEDDAH: The first company run by a visually impaired person has received its commercial registration.

Mohammed Towfik Bellow, who will run this company, said on Sunday that the registration follows the permission given by Minister of Commerce and Industry Tawfiq Al-Rabiah.

Bellow said the company will be run in cooperation with Dr. Aisha Natoo, director of Vision Charity Association, with the screen reader, which was introduced at the concluding ceremony of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum on Saturday.

The ministry registered this commercial company of the visually impaired in the presence of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (JCCI) Board Member Ziad Al-Bassam, Secretary General Adnan Mandurah and a number of officials and businessmen, aside from Dr. Natto.

Dr. Natto appreciated the efforts of Al-Rabiah for taking care of visually impaired people and grant commercial registration to their company through the screen reader.

This clearly reflects the support for the blind and the visually impaired thus creating history and enabling charity organizations to contribute to the economy of the country.

Mohammed Sweileh, chairman of the Young Businessmen’s Committee, said its members helped Bellow in the necessary procedures like securing insurance for the company office for the purpose of registration.

He said a thorough study was conducted to see how such physically challenged people could be assisted in becoming young entrepreneurs.

An agreement was signed by Majid Rizk, director general of Office for the Blind Association, and Bellow, director general of the new publishing company in the presence Al-Rabiah.

Bellow thanked Al-Rabiah for this initiative and motivating the people with disabilities to manage businesses and companies.
