JEDDAH: The Criminal Court in Jeddah is looking into the case of an African woman accused of pouring boiling water on her six-day-old daughter which led to the baby’s death. Police received a report from a private hospital about a child having difficulty breathing and suffering from burns. Police arrested the mother for premeditated murder and transferred her to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution. A medical examination showed the girl suffered from several fractures, and first and second degree burns due to exposure to hot water. Authorities discovered the baby’s father had previously been deported.
