RIYADH: A housemaid lost her life when her female sponsor knifed her during an altercation.

The killer called the cops herself, according to Col. Fawaz Al-Maiman, media spokesman for Riyadh police.

The crime took place in a national housing complex on Mather Street (Iskan) in Riyadh.

The police rushed to the apartment with its medical team and forensic experts and found the maid lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

The female sponsor was arrested.

Investigations are underway. The nationality of the Asian maid and her age have not been specified.

Her body is in the central morgue at King Saud Hospital.

It is customary for the police to inform the embassy of the deceased for the clearance of the body after the inquiry is completed.
